Default Need your help

I have a 93 gt. Just put a 302 back in with a new heads cam intake. The thing is I tossed a v2-strim on their. I'm still putting the motor together, but I was thinking of going to vmp for my tuning. My guess is when you tune a fox body you make a custom chip? Well if thats the case would you suggest getting an msd/vortech ignition with boost retard control or not?

With a custom chip you do not need the Vortech supplied Boost Retard Box

You can use a normal 6AL MSD Ignition Box if you want.

I was also told If I have the msd coil the stock ignition will work. Id get the 6al but down the road if i DONT NEED it right now. Would save me a lot of moeny. I still need to buy a 255, fmu lines, and a crank pulley.

No FMU is needed - You need 42 lb Injectors and a 90mm Lightning MAF - You will need to change the MAF connector for this to work.. but its only a 20$ connector no big deal.

Feel free to PM if you need any help

nick i ran the msd coil on the stock ignition for the longest and it worked just fine... now you will notice a difference when you change up to the 6al but i think i would have to steer you towards the digital 6 or 7... they just have more bells and whistles.... i know the digi 6 has 2 step and retard ad advance options as well as rev limiter as to where the 6al only has rev limiter pill and you can buy a retard switch that plugs into the 6al

you do not want to run the FMU, and you really need some 42# injectors for that setup.

I hear you wayne, I plan to upgrade right now, but if the msd isn't needed, then it's crank pulley money. But I was told if I ran an adj fpr with an fmu and cranked up the fuel pressure I could made some really good power on 30 lb injecters. Foxes on my mustang forum have gone 430 easy on them.
