Well
We are developing a cylinder head and valvetrain course for those of you who are hardcore DIY. Our criteria will include: Basic Port Matching, Bowl Work, Porting Intake Manifolds, Flow bench Q and A with hands on flow bench time, Video and Instruction courses, Lot's of hands on experience with small block chevy and ford cylinder heads. Field trips to machine shop for Instructions on how to perform a proper valve job and the difference between 1, 3, and 5 angle valve jobs. You will learn about valve train geometry, how to degree a camshaft, and how to set valve spring heights as well. Each student will recieve Test heads for before and after flow bench testing after they have performed thier porting. You will learn the differences in grinding tools needed, different flutes on carbide cutters for aluminum and cast iron, All grinding equipment and saftey equipment will be provided. The course is 1 full week and you bring nothing but yourself. How many of you would be interested in something like this? After the course, you will understand almost everything there is to know about cylinder heads and valve train technology as well as how to perform port work to a set of cylinder heads! Did you know the closest school like this is in California and is $3,000.00 per week excluding lodging and food?! Let us know if anyone is interested in this course of study by posting here or private message and we will gladly answer any questions you may have.

This sounds interesting... what would hours for something like this be since many of us work a regular day shift...
Would something like this be explained in easy to understand terminology? I've built my engine twice and can do most of my own work now, but I still don't know what a lot of stuff is called or fully understand how various parts work.. I just know where they go and that they are needed to make the car run LOL. I can do stuff like change head gaskets and adjust rocker arms on my own... ... So, would something like this be for people like me? |
